The 4.2 cycle introduced a bridge so Focus can request the active video, target language, subtitle style, and Progressive Final snapshots from the companion.
Workspace persistence
Notes, bookmarks, saved videos, translation snapshots, projects, and history now share an account-scoped Workspace store with local fallback and server sync states.
Gemini key persistence
The companion moved the BYOK key from session-only storage to local Chrome-profile storage so closing and reopening Chrome does not require re-entry.
Background completion
A started translation job is no longer intended to depend on the user keeping the side panel in view. Once captions are available, the job can continue toward 100% while the user changes tabs.
Focus player reliability
The current test cycle is also hardening the YouTube IFrame API path so the player, bilingual overlay, current line, seeking, playback-rate changes, and transcript auto-follow all use the same media clock.
